Frequently Asked Questions

People who are curious about the practice of Hoshindo often have similar questions. Check below to see if we can answer some of your own.

What if I'm allergic to bees?

Someone who is allergic to bees is not a candidate for this practice. If you are uncertain about whether you are in fact allergic you may schedule a sensitivity test.

Does the bee die?

Yes. Practitioners have a close relationship with their hives and use the oldest girls with only days left to live. They live the great majority of their life in service to the hive. When they are at the end of their lives, they come and do this incredible healing work with our clients.

How many sessions does it take to be effective?

Clients who receive this therapy will receive a personalized plan according to the conditions being addressed. Many people note some relief after the first session. Most clients require multiple sessions to receive significant results.  Ultimately, it will be you and your body that will decide the frequency of your visits.

How is the venom administered?

After receiving a sensitivity test and it is determined that you are a candidate for this therapy, venom is applied topically in micro-doses. You will feel a slight prick, perhaps a little warmth or itchiness. This method is very gentle.

How long does a session take?

Your first session will involve an in-depth intake. Expect that appointment to take a little over an hour. Follow up sessions will take 45 minute to an hour.
